It is perfectly positioned in Europe and has become a tourist destination for the world to enjoy. The Mediterranean is never far from anyone’s mind or eyeline while in Barcelona. It is famous for paella, patatas bravas, and sangria. Sitting at a cafe sipping on a glass of sangria while looking out at the Mediterranean sounds like a little bit of paradise. Barcelona was also home to Antoni Gaudí, the famous artist who designed the magnificent Park Güell and many other buildings. La Sagrada Familia, also designed by Gaudí is an uber (no pun intended!) famous church in the heart of Barcelona attracting visitors from around the world. Sounds like paradise, so don’t let transportation keep you from getting on with your trip.

Taxis are always an easy way to get to and from the airport, and Barcelona is no different. Taxis run 24 hours a day in Barcelona and are black and yellow in color. At the airport, you can find them outside Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. In Barcelona there is a minimum €3,10 fee. From the airport to the city center, the taxi will cost approximately between €25 to €30. There are two taxi services operating out of the Barcelona airport: Taxi Services Barcelona and Barcelona Airport Taxis. Barcelona is a huge and bustling modern city, so traffic can be a real pain sometimes. Taking a taxi is the easiest way to get out of the airport, but it might not be the fastest to get to your destination. From airport to city center, the trip is about 20 minutes, give or take.

There are other means of
transportation to and from the Barcelona airport. In Terminal 2, there is a
train, which will take you directly to the city center at stations Passeig de
Gracia and Barcelona Sants Station and runs every 30 minutes between 6:00 am
and 11:00 pm. The metro or L9 South also operates out of the airport in
Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The metro connects Barcelona to the airport and goes
to a multitude of high traffic locations within the city. The Aerobús is
another popular and affordable transportation option. It has lines in both
Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 costing only €5,90 a ticket.

Many travelers rely on Uber to get
them around their temporary home cities, but due to restrictive city
regulations, Uber has suspended their services in the city until further
notice. Cabify also suspended their services in Barcelona, but they are back
and functioning within the cities limits again. If you’re looking for a taxi
alternative, Cabify is the way to go.

If you’re wanting to weigh your transportation options, RideGuru is a great resource. They compare all fares, so you don’t have to go through the headache. There are tons of great transportation options though taxis always remain a classic favorite!

Barcelona is a beautiful city.
