Taxis in Amsterdam are licensed with official fares set by local authorities. There are two types of taxis: cars and buses. Fares depend on the type of taxi. Cars are only allowed to transport a maximum of four passengers at a time. Buses can transport up to eight passengers. Cars charge \u20ac3.19 to begin with an additional \u20ac2.35 per kilometer after that. For waiting times, it is \u20ac.39 per minute. Buses have a beginning rate of \u20ac6.49 with an additional \u20ac2.95 per kilometer. Per minute they are \u20ac.44. If a taxi waits for you, the charge is \u20ac43.94 per hour. You\u2019ll want to keep your wait time to a minimum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taxis in Amsterdam must be licensed in order to legally operate. You can find illegal taxis at the airport. Legal taxis are easy to spot because they feature a roof light with their companies official taxxi logo (it is spelled with two x\u2019s) and blue license plates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking taxis in Amsterdam is easy. Drivers are not allowed to decline short trips, so you\u2019ll never have a problem getting one. Drivers are required to take the shortest route to get you to your destination in a safe manner. The taxi meter will always be running. If you do not see the meter running, you should make a complaint. After your trip has come to a completion, the driver will give you a receipt including information about your fare, the taxi, and the trip. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
