How to Use the Gett Taxi App

What is Gett Taxi?

Gett, previously known as GetTaxi, is an Israeli-based startup that connects customers with black car corporate rides and taxis. Gett allows you to hail cars immediately or book them for later. Gett’s main pledge is that they will never surge and their prices are pretty competitive ($10 rides anywhere in Manhattan, for up to 30 minutes and 4 miles).

Gett also has a rewards program for their frequent riders. Gett calls these riders “Gett-Setters” and through using Gett they earn points towards free rides and even gain invitations to exclusive Gett events.

Gett offers a variety of services from wheelchair accessible rides, environmentally friendly options, XL vehicles, as well as standard taxis. Gett also acquired Juno rideshare in 2017 for $200 million, adding three more service options to their offering, Bliss, Lux, and SUV.

Gett is also a popular choice among corporate clients as the app provides a full business offering. Gett is currently available in 80 cities globally including New York, London, Moscow, St Petersburg, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

How much does Gett cost?

Gett’s costs vary by country and region with some areas charging by the meter and others by flat rates. Further, while Gett pledges to not have surge pricing, Juno (which they acquired) does have “high-demand pricing” or surge pricing. To find out how much Gett costs in your area try using the RideGuru Fare Comparison Calculator.

Keep in mind that while Gett does not offer any sign-up bonus, Juno does! All new riders automatically receive a 30% off promo that expires in two weeks, a 20% off promo that expires in a month, and a 10% off promo that expires in eight weeks.
